Bora Farm
Bora farm
At Bora Farm, natural, animal-friendly husbandry conditions, excellent care, and healthy nutrition ensure the well-being of the Aberdeen Angus cattle raised organically. Our animals spend the entire year outdoors, with the option to go into the barn during winter. From spring to autumn, they graze on the protected grasslands of the Hortobágyi National Park, which is an important means of nature conservation.
Considering the grazing capacity, we have developed a coordinated grazing system where the protection of natural values – protected plant and animal species, habitats, and the preservation of biodiversity – plays a prominent role. The nutritional needs of our animals are met exclusively by our organic pastures and organic arable land.
Extensive grazing on nutrient-rich meadows guarantees intensely flavored, richly colored meat that is high in valuable omega-3 fatty acids. Additionally, the slow and even growth ensures fine marbling of the meat and the natural incorporation of aromatic substances.
Bora Farm is a certified partner of Biokontroll Hungaria. Registration number: 4529/09_SZ.
Borockás Tanya
Our operation, the organic Aberdeen Angus cattle breeding, operates at two locations. The winter accommodation for our herd is provided by Borockás Tanya, located on the edge of Hortobágy, 176 km from Budapest, just a few kilometers from the Polgár exit of the M3 motorway. The Borockás estate was already mentioned in records in 1810 as one of the earliest manors of the Eger Chapter. The farm was originally focused on sheep farming but was expanded in the summer of 2009 to include organic Aberdeen Angus cattle breeding.
Pasture Farming in Hortobágy National Park
During the grazing season, the diverse vegetation of the grasslands in Hortobágyi National Park in Újszentmargita provides healthy nutrition and a pleasant environment for our animals. Additionally, winter feed is provided in the form of meadow grass bales. Based on our agreement with Hortobágyi National Park, we guarantee environmentally conscious management as well as nature-friendly care and use of the pastures. We contribute to the preservation of natural values, the maintenance and restoration of the natural state, and the protection of habitats for rare and endangered bird species.
